On first glance, it appears as an old set of painted children’s number blocks arranged in a straight line. Upon closer inspection, the viewer discovers that there are random ones missing; the colors painted on each block also do not seem to fit any pattern either. Is it a metaphor? Life is neither “by the numbers” nor a straight line.
